At Liquipak we are a full-service contract packager with extensive experience in the special needs required for the packaging of bulk lubricants. We were recently contracted by a client in the lawn and garden industry for the engineering and manufacturing of form-fill-seal bulk lubricant packaging of single use packets.
This project required packaging of a very viscous specialty lubricant, and utilized a 0.00065″plastic laminated packaging film. Product development efforts resulted in the use of a tear notch design, and included surface printing and lot coding.
The use of our vertical form-fill-seal packaging system allowed us to produce over 50,000 packets with a 4 week turnaround time. These packets measured 7″ in length, 3-1/2″ in width and contained 2.6 oz. of lubricant (± 1.2 g). As part of an equipment service kit, the packets innovative design allows for easy opening and reduced spillage. In addition, the surface printing of the packaging film was covered with an aqueous coating to protect against abrasion and contact with the lubricant or other products.
To ensure that products meet our highest quality standards and those of our clients, digital test stand compression testing and digital-scale weigh testing were performed. These stringent quality measures also include component traceability information and batch record documentation.
